Does BM have radiators available today?

BM advertises a range of radiators at its Thurmaston trade counter. Ask about radiator height, width, type, finish, valves and current quantities before travelling; immediate availability cannot be guaranteed.

What is the difference between a TRV and a lockshield valve?

A thermostatic radiator valve (TRV) adjusts flow in response to room temperature. A lockshield valve is generally used when balancing radiator flow. Confirm connection size and compatibility before purchasing.

Why is my radiator cold at the bottom?

Sludge or restricted circulation can cause a distinctly cold lower radiator section, but valve problems and balancing may also contribute. A cold top more commonly indicates trapped air. Bleeding does not remove sludge; an engineer can diagnose the issue before costly cleaning.

What information helps identify a boiler or heating spare?

Bring the boiler or appliance make, full model number, original part number and a clear photograph. Similar-looking spares can be incompatible. Gas appliance work must be undertaken by an appropriately Gas Safe registered engineer.

What do heating system cleaners, inhibitors and magnetic filters do?

Cleaner helps loosen existing deposits during a planned cleaning process; inhibitor reduces future corrosion in a suitable clean system; magnetic filters capture circulating magnetic debris. Check compatibility, installation instructions and availability with BM.
